I have a job in London on Friday where the integrity of an electrical system is ‘allegedly’ threatened by ‘damp walls’. So I though I’d ‘test’ the dampness of the walls around light switches and power outlet sockets.

The matter is a housing association/ community law funded case where the residential property is ‘alleged’ to be unfit for human habitation.

The moisture meter reminds me of two other cases I have undertaken which focussed on electrical equipment which functions on the same principal as the moisture meter which is to inject electrical current into the subject, which in the London matter is a wall with the meter measuring the resulting current flow, consequential of electrical resistance of a dry/damp wall.

The first ‘other’ case was in a ‘beauty salon’ where some micro-fractional needling technology, was deemed by the owner of the beauty salon as ‘not producing the desired effects’ !!! I remember this case well since the equipment and the treatment delivered appeared akin to torture.

The second case was in respect of a home made ‘stun gun’, designed to subject drug users/dealers with circa 400KV to leverage money/drugs. Nasty business. In this case I built my own stun gun to test my ‘test equipment’ and duly ‘zapped myself ,.. ouch!!!

Robert has published pure and applied research studies in peer-refereed journals and at conference. Robert has appeared several times on national television presenting expert opinion in consumer affairs related stories.

In his spare time Robert is a motorsports enthusiast, audiophile, and enjoys outdoor pursuits. Robert is a brass band enthusiast, a tuba player and band manager of Hatfield and Askern Colliery Band.
